Lyric mezzo-soprano Kaitlyn Michelle Waterson performs art song, opera, and musical theater alike with stunning clarity and charisma. Her opera affiliations include the Delaware Valley Opera Company and the West Chester University Opera Company, where she has performed leading roles such as Prince Charmant in Cendrillon (Massenet) and Hansel in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck). Kaitlyn has been featured as a soloist with both the West Chester University Symphony Orchestra as well as the Csik Chamber Orchestra of Csíkszereda, Romania, with which she has performed two world premiers. Kaitlyn’s teachers include Susan Rheingans, In Young Lee, and Randall Scarlata, and Cara Latham.
Kaitlyn is a professional chorister with both the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir and the Mendelssohn Club, the music director of Shenkel United Church of Christ in Pottstown, PA and teaches voice and piano throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area. She is a European history enthusiast, writer of historical fiction, and personal trainer at The Sporting Club Main Line in Bryn Mawr. Her favorite composer is Francis Poulenc.
